STRING THEORY: CIRCLES and INCHIE , 'KILLER'

I Am the Diva, CZT
Weekly Challenge #169
String Theory: Circles

I thought of bubbles when I read that we were to use circles for our string this week! And what goes best with summer fun? Bubbles!!! Anyway, I kinda did this one quick because I have lots of kid's-end-of-the-school-year-stuff to do!!!! Whew!I'm already wiped out!!
I did this on light blue card stock. Just added a bit of shading and white charcoal pencil.

I then added some colored pencil marker to this one to add that special rainbow look that bubbles magical have.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a special thanks to all who stop by and leave me a message!

"Killer'

Ok, when I saw what the word was for this week, I kinda cringed, thinking how creepy it is. Then I thought, ,.............I could draw something like 'killer' shoes, or 'killer' jewelry, (which in this new world), 'killer' means 'totally awesome'!!!!! Anyways, then I went back to the creepy sense of the word. I guess because that's what first came into my mind. I did think of an Orca, killer whale, but figured someone else might use that one.
Which leads me to this. So how many of you remember the movie back in 1980, (I'm dating myself), Friday the 13th? I never saw the whole thing. Way toooooooo scary for me!!! Well, so many of those movies popped into my head, that would fit this week's word. But something about that hockey mask, gets me every time. So here ya' go! Friday the 13th, with the 'killer' Jason Voorhees! (Had to look up all of the info on it.)

I'm sorry if I'm creeping anybody out! If you remember this movie, it just gives me the eebie jeebies, when I see hockey masks. Can anybody remember the name of the lake where Jason was known as this horrific killer?

I added this second pic, in hopes to show that the mask is lifted up off the page! I used my button hole punch for his eyes and punched it a couple times to get the right size. His head is an egg punch, that I cut a little off the chin. The rest I drew on a black inchie and used white pencil and silver.
I was so busy with Memorial Day festivities, that I am sooooo behind with everything! Better late than never, right? Now I have to find time to do my tangle for the week and take a peak at all the other entries at EIM!!

Have a 'Killer' rest of your week!!!!

TANGLEATION NATION, RAIN and INCHIE, JOLLY-BOAT

I Am the Diva CZT
Weekly Challenge #168
Tangleation Nation: Rain

I went ahead and did a Zia for this challenge. Since May is the month for Brain Cancer Awareness, I wanted to spread the word. If you go to my post Gray Matters, you can read more about the awareness of brain cancer, and my reason to promote it.
The symbol in the center is the logo for the American Brain Tumor Association.

I used the Zenspirations Tangle Design, by Joanne Fink, as my inspiration for Rain. She is amazing and has so many neat and different ideas to add to any Zentangle.
Enjoy your week! I know many of you have had rain, but here in sunny CA we could use rain like crazy!!!! So here's to Rain, with or without it!!

'Jolly-Boat'

I had know idea what a Jolly-Boat was, so I had to Google it and look at the images. I found
this image of the Cutty Sark's jolly boat!  There was my inspiration! And here is my jolly boat Inchie!
I drew on the Inchie and used water color pencils to add the color. There is actually 3 layers to this Inchie.

The boat and waves were cut from an umbrella punch tool and the ores I hand cut.
Remember to go to Every Inchie Monday , and check out all the other entries and maybe join in on the fun!! Have a great week!!

DUOTANGLE; WELL/PUNZEL and INCHIE 'JET'

Weekly Challenge #167
Well/Punzel

Now, I have never used Punzel, so as soon as I saw the challenge for this week, I cringed!!! Yeeeks!    But as I started out it wasn't so bad. Then adding color and shading I quite liked it and figured it out! And I love 'Well', I just forget to use it in any of my tiles! So thanks Laura, as always, for breaking us out of our comforts!!
Once I got into coloring Punzel, I forgot that I had wanted to do it in gray, for Brain Cancer Awareness Month is May! My string was a ribbon and then some added lines.
I am so proud of myself, because my last 4 challenges, I have really just let the Zentangle method take over and not let myself try and foresee the outcome of my tile. And it is amazing how the end results feel that much more gratifying. Rick and Maria, founders of Zentangle, had a fantastic post on their blog about Imperfections in Art! ( I tend to be one of those that tries to perfect everything I do) I so agree with what they had to say, so I'm gonna try even harder to reflect on that before I start any art work! Thank you Rick and Maria for reminding us of that!
Click on images to enlarge. As you can see I over drew my lines on Punzel,.....but it was my first go at this tangle so I need to learn and keep practicing!!
I can't wait to see what all the other Tanglers will have come up with for this challenge!!
For all of you visiting, have a wonderful week!!!

Weekly Challenge
'Jet'

Well, with temperatures rising to 100 degrees, and then some, this week, I have been doing a lot more hand watering for all my plants. So when I saw the word 'jet' for this weeks word, it made me think of the nozzle on the hose that I use to water. There are so many different sprays to choose from, but I dare use 'jet' on my flowers!!! The would get torn to pieces. 'Shower' is usually the one I use. Then there is 'mist' or even 'flood'. I think a couple more too.
I really enjoy 3D work, so I'm going to try to do more of that with my challenges, if it permits. I love drawing too, but I need to have some variety.

The hose is made of a rubber band, and the water nozzle is a tulip punch tool. The water is a sparkly thread that I have. I used water color pencils, given to me by a dear friend of mine (Love you Jenn!!), for the background.

Happy Mother's Day
card.
I give permission to make copies of this to color and use for your Mother's Day card or whatever it may be.
I just want to show how I laid out the letters for this project.  Laura from I Am the Diva CZT, has a new tangle. And that is what I used for these letters.

I lightly drew out my letters, then added the circles with my Micron pen and then went back and added  all my lines to make Laura's new tangle. Give it a try! It was fun!
May all Mother's have a very happy and Blessed
Mother's Day!!

I Am the Diva CZT
Weekly Challenge #166
UMT: Diva Style
(Partee Nitezzz or Logzzz???)

Ok so, Laura came up with a new tangle. (Which by the way I agree that it should be a new tangle because the first line drawn from one circle to another has to be deliberate as far as what angle you use for all the other lines to follow. ( just saying)..) Anyway, Laura was suffering from insomnia the night (or morning???) she came up with this new tangle. But she said she did not come up with a name for it yet. Then she did mention that her birthday is this month. So I tried to make a positive note out of her NOT sleeping, and thought maybe she could name her new tangle "Partee Nitezzz".??? ( Because, hopeful she will partying all night on her birthday!) I don't know but whatever the name is she does call it, it was a fun one!!! As always, Laura, thank you for keeping us tangling!!! Mondays will never be the same! I now look forward to them, thanks to you and Rick and Maria too!!
With a touch of color,......

..........and without (Tangles used, Cruffle, Diva Dance, and  ? (Partee Nitezzz?)
(I also thought of "Logzzz" for a title too. My brothers built with Lincoln Logs when they were little and it reminds me of that. Plus you can add a couple ZZZZs to that too for sleep deprivation.)  I had a lot of fun with this one! Now it's time to see all the beautiful entries all of the other tanglers have created!! Have an awesome week!!!

Weekly Challenge
"Indigo'

So, I thought this week was going to be much easier than last week, until I started looking for anything and everything 'Indigo' in my house!!! (Tough job that was!!) So, anywho, this is what I came up with.
Quilled color wheel.

Really, there is an inch of paper beneath all of these colored pencil tips. I just thought it would be kinda fun and a little different.
I'm always excited to see, in what ways all of us Inchers, create an inch of work depicting one simple little word!! That is complete AWESOMENESS!!!

Have a blessed and joyful week!!
