CURVY GRIDLOCK, INCHIE 'DARK', and TWINCHIE, 'STARS'

Weekly Challenge #156
Show me your Curves,........ in a Gridlock sorta way!!

I had to laugh when I saw what our challenge was that Laura gave us. Last week I made a comment how grid patterns are my most difficult to do! Well, look what she gave us....! Too funny!!( I think it was Laura's way of giving me my 'Time Out', since I messed up on the Linky Machine, two weeks in a row.  Yeeeeeeksss!!!) I really was sorry!!! I'm just kidding!!! I know she didn't do this because of me. Anyways, I rather had a good time doing this grid because Laura did say to use curvy lines. Which helped me be a little more creative. *wink Thanks Laura!!! :0)
Now I just briefly added on last weeks challenge a new tile and mentioned that I would be adding a gray ribbon on my tiles from now on. (The reason being I had to ask my niece if it was ok to do this). My niece was diagnosed with Brain Cancer back in December. It has been a real eye opener to how to deal with cancer, only because I have never had someone so close to me be diagnosed with any kind of cancer. I have been pondering how to bring this into my blog without creating a whole lot of,..........well, I guess you might say, drama. But I feel like I need to help bring awareness to brain cancer, to help her. It will be the last time I will be writing about it on my challenge posts. So you will see gray ribbons included, somewhere, in my tiles from now on. I will have a whole separate page for Brain Cancer Awareness under my heading The Ripple Effect.(I am still putting that together.) I will be adding to it frequently. Please take time to read and inform yourself and hopefully others, of this horrible illness.
I just have to say, "I pray for all and any of you and your families that have ever had to go through anything like this. It's painful and hard to grasp!! So my heartfelt empathy go out to you!!! God Bless you with Peace and Understanding and yet Strength and Love to carry you on!!! XO'S"
( I also didn't want to turn the weekly challenge into a mourning and sad event every week! I have to say this week is one of the first weeks that my mind and body are feeling balanced and peaceful. I never really give much detail about my personal life but this has been hard to pretend it's not there, even with tangling and blogging. So bare with me for unloading.) Hugs!
Tangles used: Girdy, HugzIN kizzez, Carp3, Puff, Emingle, and Echoism. Click on images to enlarge.

Tangles used: Chard, Cubine, Florz, Flying Geese, Gingham, Telis, Navaho, and 4 Corners

I missed last week, but I'm hoping to catch up! Anyway, our American flag is what came to mind. And I have to say, I cheated a little. I quilled a bunch of different patriotic mini cards, back in 2002. (the year was on the back) And I remembered I still had some , so I thought I would apply it to this weeks challenge! I just love minis.

It's always fun doing Twinchies! Anybody want to join in on the fun??

VELEN'TANGLE'

Ok, I have a confession, I am using a Zia that I created last week! :0) I will do one for the challenge too, but I really liked this one and wanted to use it!

Tangles used: Mooka, Jailed Johnny and hugz IN kizzez (My tangle creation, just click on title and it will show you deconstruction of hugz IN kizzez)!

Here is my official Diva's challenge entry!!
I hate to say, but my heart has felt heavy for the last week and I can't seem to shake it! :0( So  I think that is why I can't get enough of hearts right now!!! Subliminally, I think I'm trying to get myself out of this funk!!! Crazy!!!

Hopes for a Loving Valentine's Day for everyone!!

'CHOCOLATE'

Well, three weeks ago the Inchie word was 'Brown', and I used chocolate to define that word. So today the word is 'Chocolate' and I'm using something 'Brown' to define it!!! (Why can't I just keep things simple,........? I ask myself that all the time... it's just the way my brain works!) Anyway, the first thing I thought of was 'Chocolate Lab'!! One of these days, I would love to own one of these!! It wouldn't  fix that craving of chocolate like a chocolate Kiss, but a chocolate lab could give chocolate hugs!!! Both sound really good right now!!!
I sure hope you get some kind of 'Chocolate' for Valentine's Day!!
And if not,........
A
GREAT

HUG,
IS ALWAYS

"HEART'

Ok, for the Twinchie Challenge, the word is 'Heart'. I have been drawing so many lately and,... for reasons I can't shake this heavy heart of mine. So, I decided to put a "CABOSH" to that!!! When I was a little girl my dad use to tell a story of The Warm Fuzzies and The Cold Pricklies. Well, he actually had it typed on a paper too. Over the years I have asked him for a copy of the story, but he could not find it. So I decided to look it up on line. Low and behold,............the Internet is marvelous, I found it!!! The Original Warm Fuzzy Story, by Claude Steiner, is sold on paper back! You can believe I bought one!! Anyway, check out the story and let me know what you think!! I just love it and I think it's a great story to tell children and anyone, for that matter, about THE POWER OF LOVE!!!
This is my version of a Warm Fuzzy, squashing out a Cold Prickly!!!
Check out all of the beautiful hearts over at the Twinchie Challenge Blog!!

JAILED JOHNNY, INCHIE 'CATHEDRAL', and TWINCHIE, 'FEATHERS'

Weekly Challenge #153: UMT v.24
'Jailed Johnny' by Sadelle Wiltshire, CZT

So when I first read the title of this tangle I wasn't sure what it was gonna look like. I like the name, but my head was just in ponder of what it would look like. (Poor Laura, had a migraine so she was not able to use this tangle on her blog to show us an example of it used. Laura, I hope you are feeling better! I am so surprised you could even do a Monday post!.......Your dedication is amazing!)
So back to poor Jailed Johnny. What did he do in the first placed to go to jail? These are things I'm thinking about before I even had seen the breakdown of this tangle. So right away I'm thinkin' I gotta Set Johnny Free!!! And so here is my Jailed Johnny,...........Set Free!!

Please don't forget to go and check out all the other entries! Oh and you must go to Sadelle's blog The Tangled Pumpkin, to see her other tangle Pop-Pop! I really want to give that one a try too! Oh, and keep up with my posts because I am finally going to be posting my own tangle! Hopefully in time for Valentine's Day! It won't be linked to the Diva's challenge so check back in a couple days!
Anywho, have a great week!!

Thank you to all, who visit and leave a token of Kindness!!

'Cathedral'

Back in the year 2005, my husband, both my parents, and I were able to take a trip to Italy. It was an amazing trip!! And yes, there are Cathedrals everywhere!! The one that stood out and what inspired me for this week's challenge, though, was Cattedrale di San Rufino di Assisi! (please click on name of cathedral and take a peak at this extraordinary cathedral)  Man, if I only knew about Zentangle back then!! San Rufino has inspiration inside, outside, everywhere for Zentangle!(It's funny how some things just stand out in our memories, more than others. And I wonder, if I went back there, if it would be just as impressionable as it was then,...?) Anyways, here is my depiction of cathedral.
This is called the Rose Window of Saint Rufino Cathedral (click on image to enlarge)
It was very difficult to get all the fine detail into this Inchie, so it was the best I could do!

Have a blessed and happy week!!

I am amazed at their muscle control and love watching how the muscles are put to use. I guess you could say the kinesiology of ballet, is phenominal!!!! MOEBIUS SYNDROME AWARENESS, INCHIE 'BROWN', and TWINCHIE 'GLASS'

Weekly Challenge #151: String Theory
Moebius Syndrome Awareness

Moebius Syndrome is a congenital nerve disorder affecting cranial VI and VII nerves controlling the lateral movement of the face. Moebius is a spectrum disorder - so some cases are more severe than others. Our dear friend Laura from I Am the Diva CZT, has a son, Artoo, who suffers from this disorder. She is focusing this Weeks Challenge on the Awareness of this Syndrome. I think this is a great idea and a wonderful way to let people, in the world, become aware of all of our differences. And yet embrace those differences!!
This is my first time with the Diva's Weekly Challenges to know and learn about Moebius Syndrome! Thank you, Laura for making me aware!!! Your little Artoo is a bright, wonderful, and happy little boy!!! He and his brother remind me of my two boys. They are best buds!! Whenever you share pictures with us, he exudes 'happiness'!!!! So 'You keep on Smiling Artoo'!!!! xo's
Laura, I'm donating this to MSAD if it can be used with/for anything it is yours!
I love your passion!!

ONE LITTLE WORD, INCHIE 'AMULET', and TWINCHIE 'FILM'

One Little Word
I Am the Diva CZT
Challenge #150

Humanity- (n) the quality of being humane; kindness; benevolence
Humanities-the study of literature, philosophy, art, etc.

So there you have it! My little word for the year!! See what, Share Humanity means to me, and how I want it to be a big part of my year, 2014!!! Maybe you'll feel the 'ripple effect'. Last year was, Peace! May Peace be Yours!!
I just want to say, I'm a little late in getting my word out, but have come down with the flu! I thought I would just use my original Humanity Zia, but I really wanted to do something different! So this is what I came up with. (The 'BIG' picture of my word!) In the meantime, I have looked at all of the other entries for The Diva's Challenge, and my heart just overflows!!! All, and I mean, ALL of the entries that I have looked at and read, are so INSPIRING, and BEAUTIFUL!!! I can just feel everybody's passion in each word they have chosen! And the whole time, I'm nodding my head thinking , yes, that is an awesome word! So my hat tips to all of you, for such beautiful and heartfelt posts! You all have such AWESOMENESS!!!!! Love to you all and hopes that all your little words hold dear all year long!!!
Okay, okay, I had an epiphany, a new word came to me today!!! Since I haven't been well, I have had to sit around and just be!!! Well, tonight after dinner, I was just sitting there staring at my new little journal. I decided I wanted to break it in. So, I'm sitting there and thought, " I just want to PLAY!!!" And then I thought about it. How many times in my day does my little girl or my sons, come to me and say they want to play. And how hard it is for me to say, "I'm busy and or I can't right now." Why is it that as adults, we forget how to Play????? I am such a routine, follow the rules, and gotta have a plan and think things through first, ...kind a girl that sometimes I have a hard time to get in that Play mode!!! So, let's just say, I'm gonna call 'Humanity' my BIG word and this will be my 'little word'!!! 'PLAY!!'  I'm gonna try to be more playful!! (Why should that be so hard?)

play-verb- amuse oneself by engaging in imaginative pretense
play at- engage in without proper seriousness or understanding
I tried to pick Playful tangles to use for this!! No rules, no thinking and planning, no do's or don'ts, just playing!!

'The Italian Horn'
Cornicello or Corno in Italian, is an 'amulet', to protect against 'the evil eye' or 'malocchio' (maloik).  Superstition has it, that it protects from wrongdoers, infertility, and jealousy and envy.
It is to also bring good luck!
So, yes, I do have one!!  I got it from my Italian Grandma years ago!! It's in the picture to the left, and then I quilled one for the picture below.

It's so nice to be back in the fun with,The Diva's Challenges!! Thank you Laura for all your hard work! And Thank you, Suzanne Wilka, for organizing all of our photos into those nice slideshows!! It's so much fun to see them all together, and how different each one is!!

Let's Party!!!
The New Year always brings in such a feeling of renewal and rebirth!!! So it, definitely, is a reason to celebrate!!! Four years ago, those words really meant renewal and rebirth for me because my daughter was born!!!! So yes, we get to celebrate really big!! And believe it or not, she stayed up until 12:00 for count down. And then after  50 people sang  "Auld Lang Syne, we sang Happy Birthday, to one, overly tired but feeling like a princess, little girl!!!!! (Talk about feeling special!!)
"A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR WISH TO YOU ALL!"

"Alice Blue"
Every Inchie Monday's
Weekly Challenge

As did a lot of the other artists, I Googled "Alice Blue". And I did see Theodore Roosevelt's daughter, but I also did see a song called 'Alice Blue Gown'. The words are written by Joseph McCarthy and the music by Harry Tierney. The song is about a dainty blue gown and how it had little  Forget Me Nots on it, here and there. So that is my depiction of Alice Blue! I still am thinking of Alice in Wonderland though!!
Please remember to go to Every Inchie Monday and look at all the other entries and possibly get inspired to join us!!

TWINCHIE CHALLENGE #6 "THINK PINK"

THINK PINK

I am having sooooo much fun in joining all of these wonderful challenges!!!
(and to think, I've been missing out on all of this creativeness)
Anyway, thanks to my new found friend,
Zoe, at My Specialist, blog.
I have found the

Here is my entry for the Twinchie Challenge
Think Pink

Thank you Zoe, for the inspiration to do these challenges, and for the idea to use an easel to display them!

As soon as I heard the word pink, I knew it had to be about 'a girl'.
With having two boys first, when I was pregnant my third time, I just wanted
to have a girl, so bad!!!! I just wanted to see 'Pink' in my laundry basket, instead of just
blue and green!!! (I got my pink! Thank you God!)  :0)
Anyway, here it is!!!

I have this problem, as I'm sure most of you do, I can't throw away any tid bits
of papers or quills that I've started. Because I might just be able to use them for something.
Right? Anyway all of the little flowers you see on here were from punch tools that I had
saved and from quilled projects that I had done.
So I didn't have to work hard on this!
I just had to draw and assemble!
So don't throw out all of those lil' tid bits and do dads,
you might just be able to use them for another project!!!

 :0)

Peace be Yours

*Please come and join the fun
and challenge yourself with an
Inchie or Twinchie!!!
"It is sooo much fun!!"
