Every Inchie Monday
Weekly Challenge
'Egg'

I don't really know what kind of egg this is, but I found it in our yard. It actually has a bit of blue in it but it is hard to capture that in a photo. I thought it was just beautiful! Since I have a real fondness of eggs, I just had to keep it. (Now it was put to use.)
And now for catch up from the last,....................4 weeks...........yeeks!

'YoYo'
'Walk the dog', gives a whole new meaning when talking about
yo-yo's. (I never could do that.)
Remember, to get a closer look, click on images

'Yellow'
I think of daisies, when I think of the color yellow! That or the sun.
sorry so fuzzy

'ZigZag'
Remember when hair 'crimping' was in, back in the 80's? Well that made me think of zigzag. Picture doesn't show the  fluorescent colors I used, but do you remember that too?
(I think I'm dating myself with this image)
'Magical'
The last Inchie word for 2014! With the Christmas Spirit, in mind, how could I think of anything more magical, than the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ?!!!!!!
My Mooka Holy Family!

Here are just a few other projects I worked on during the last month.
I tangled these porcelain stocking ornaments with Sharpie markers and baked them at 400 for 30 minutes. They were gifts for my Bunco friends. (Sharpies don't stay on forever, especially if you are going to be washing the ceramic, but I figured I was pretty safe with these because I gather they won't be getting washed.)

Air Drying Clay Project

This little guy I sculpted with air drying clay. The '$.99 cent' store had these kits for making a Santa, a Snowman or a Gingerbread man with this air drying clay. I have seen this clay at local craft stores too. (Next year I'm going to price the large containers to see if it's cheaper than buying individual kits.) I bought a kit for each kid in both my sons classes and they handed them out as gifts.
In my younger son's class the teacher asked if I would help teach an art project for Christmas, so we actually made the Santas in class. Now mind you, after I had made this lil' guy the night before, I knew that the kid's Santas would have to be made flat and not 3D.
It was a good thing we did!  (Flat Santas were a challenge all in itself.) But the kids made them and then I put holes in them to make them as ornaments to give to their parents and to hopefully have as a keepsake from 2nd grade! It was a lot of fun!!!!

Here's to wishing each and every one of you who visit my blog!
From my lil' family, to yours!!!
(((Hugs)))

STRING THEORY: LEAVES, LEAVES, LEAVES and INCHIE, SALMON

Weekly Challenge #186
'String Theory, Leaves, Leaves, Leaves'

I was so excited when I saw what the weekly challenge was this week! One year ago, when I discovered Zentangle, I had a vision of tangling all over real leaves. As I would take my kids to school and see beautiful leaves all over the ground, big ones, little ones, and most of them brown. I thought to myself, these would be just amazing to tangle all over! So I put them in a book and let them get pressed and nice and flat, for a whole year! Laura's challenge, reminded me that I had these leaves all pressed and ready to be transformed! So here is one of them,....the Sycamore leaf! (The other two little ones I just found today and thought that they would look cute next to the big one. They are not pressed.)
(before pic)  The canvas that this leaf is laying on is 10"x10".

Tangles used: Fandango, Ansu, Betweed, Birds on a Wire, Angel Fish

After doing this, one leaf, I now want to make a collage of these. I will keep you posted if I do.

Fall is my favorite season of the year, even though here in Southern CA, we don't really get a true fall! (It is also, a very special day for me because my middle child was born on the first day of fall, 7 years ago!!! He always asks me to make my famous sugar cookies in the shape of leaves, for his birthday! So I had quite a lot of fun Tangling all over leaf cookies today too! So fitting for this weeks challenge!)
Anyway, enjoy the colors and,.............. hope you get to,.....Fall into your Zen!!!

Weekly Challenge
'Salmon'

I wasn't quite sure, again, what I was going to do for this one but then it came to me. Years ago, I visited my cousin in Juno, Alaska, and he prepared an awesome grilled salmon! It is still one of my favorites. Quite simple, and full of garlic!!!! So I present to you the recipe for Grilled Salmon. Minus the directions, because it wouldn't fit on an Inch. If you'd like to know the rest of this recipe, just leave me a message and I will do so! (Heeheehee)
Enjoy!!!
Have an awesome rest of the week!! And Happy Fall!!!

Thank you to all who leave such friendly messages on my posts! You bring a smile to my face! I always like to return the favor! Last couple of weeks have been busy, so I hope to do better at that this week.

ZENTANGLED GIFTS

Fun and Easy Gifts
to Make

For the Teacher!
These are wooden frames that I painted white and then Tangled all over! The letters are wooden also and painted in the color of my children's school color.
Please remember, you can click on any image to enlarge!

Bunco Gift Boxes

These little wooden boxes I purchased at Michael's craft store. I left them in the raw and then Tangled all over them. Too much fun!!! I hosted Bunco for the month of June and for the money gifts, I decided to wrap them up inside a cute little box! The ladies just loved them! (It made me feel good that they were all fighting over them, and they liked them so much!) heehee

I actually used a cheap pen from $.99 store. It did bleed a little but not much. Plus I didn't want to ruin one of my good pens. Then I used my pencil for shading and my white charcoal pencil to add a little more highlights.
I wrote little messages in each box too! Now when the ladies saw these, they really went crazy!! Kinda like reading a fortune cookie!!!

Just thought I'd share these little gift ideas with you!
Really,........the ideas of what you can Tangle on are limitless!!
So, go put a little Zen
in this Tangled world!!
