UMT- CAMELIA and INCHIE, IMPLAUSIBLE

I Am the Diva, CZT
Weekly Challenge #165
'UMT-Camelia'

Thank you, Anne Marks, for this fun and versatile tangle!!! I can see that there is going to be so many options with it!! If you haven't checked it out go to Anne's blog, The Precious Worker, and see the deconstruction of this fun tangle!!
A big thank you, to Laura for always being spontaneous and spunky!! I love that you threw in this UMT, even if it isn't the first Monday of the month!! I like that about you!! Have an awesome week!!
And now for my tangle. I was feeling quite free and very relaxed, so I had a bit of time to get this one done.

Thank you, Donald, for the inspiration! He had the tangle, 'Wist' on his Earth Day tile and it looked so pretty that I had to give it a try!! (Of course, I had to ask what it was!) Michele Beauchamp is the creator of 'Wist'. I had a lot of fun with it! Thank you both!!

For some reason I wanted to use 'Camelia' as a border! Like I said , it's so versatile!  Tangles used: '120 Ribbonz', 'Snag', Camelia and Luv-a,
I do have to confess. I thought I was going to have a client tonight, so I didn't go to my kid's soccer practice. My husband did, though. But as it may be, I didn't have a client! ( I looked at my calendar wrong.,,,,,,,,,,,ooops!!) So I felt a little guilty with 2 1/2 hours to myself, with peace and quiet!! Boy, was that nice!!! So therefore, I felt like I had time to really play!! Wow, I could use some self time like that every week!! HHHmmmmmm!!

'Implausible'

Wow, this was one that I had to go to the dictionary for!!!
*implausible-not having the appearance of truth of credibility
So, as soon as I read the definition, this is what I came up with. Would you agree?
If you go to I Love Lucy: The Moustache, you can see the photo. A partial of the episode is on You Tube ! Get a good laugh and see why she is my depiction of 'implausible'!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!! and INCHIE 'HOT'

"Oh Amanda!!!"
Weekly Challenge, #164

Happy Earth Day, to everyone!!! A day to give back to our Mother Earth!!! (It should be everyday, but let's use this day to focus and reflect on how we can make a change!!)
So my kids are celebrating Earth Day at school, and my 1st grader asked me if helping animals, helps the earth... Hmmmmmmmm! I said yes! (Now his teacher said no. But I have a feeling it was because of how he asked the question.) So when my husband got home we asked him, and thank goodness, he said yes! I would love to hear your input on this! We gave some explanation on how worms help the earth, animals eat plants and it helps maintain balance, and fish help keep balance in our ocean reefs!  I could probably think of more,....but anyway! Now that we are here on earth, what ways can we make personal changes to help maintain balance and keep our Earth Flourishing?
(click on image to enlarge; Tangles used Quandary, Diva Dance, and (clouds?)

I decided to go with a Zia! A tree, waterfall, green and blue, and then a dove with a branch from an Olive tree, for 'Hope'!!!! In hopes that our Earth will go on for generations to come!!!
Back in January, the Diva's Challenge, #150 was 'One little word', and my submission for that would also work for today's Earth Day challenge!!!

HAPPY  ZENTANGLED EARTH DAY!!

 "'HOT' Off the Press!!!"

I had so many things run through my head on this one!! But, 'Hot off the press' and 'Hot Pink', went well together, so I used them both!! Can't wait to see what everyone else came up with!!!

IT'S TIME TO ZENT'EGG'LE

ZENT'EGG'LE
your Easter eggs this year!!!

Hello Everyone, and Happy Holy week!!! I just wanted to do a little 'Egg'stra post on Zentangled Easter Eggs! You can go to my post on March 28, 2014, When, I believe, I posted my first Zent'egg'led, Easter Egg. I use a real egg, only because I have been doing artwork on eggs for 15 years now, and I have a lot of blown out eggs saved up! But being that I have started the awesome art of Zentangle, this is my first year Zent'egg'ling an egg.
I just want to share some helpful hints that worked for me.

If you look in this photo, the colored Recollections markers, worked great on the natural egg. (Now I have not yet tried them on plastic eggs.) But one of the BEST finds I have come across, is the 'PERMANENT LePEN' !!! I will never go without owning one of these awesome pens! The secret to these pens is that they are alcohol based. Therefor they dry 'lickity split'!!! No need to wait for drying time! I have tried them on so many slick surfaces, and each time, it works! Plus it does not rub off!   (I found it was a hidden secret, for people who personalize Christmas ornaments, in the shopping mall. They never wanted to tell me what kind of pen they were using. So I was on a hunt. And a very nice sales clerk at JoAnnes' Fabrics let me try some pens out without purchasing them first. And,.... Wah La, I found the secret treasure!!!!) I'm sorry, but some things "ARE" worth letting out of the bag! I believe in sharing the good news!!
So again, if you go to my past post, you will see one example. Then I decided it would be a great contribution to send one to the CBS Sunday Morning, Zentangle effort. Linda Cobb and Linda Halvorsen, are the two CZTs that are organizing this great effort. Trying to get CBS to run an excerpt on Zentangle and the founders, Rick and Maria! I think it is awesome!! I hope it works! (Entries were supposed to be in by April 1st, but I see that more people are still sending them in,.....Like me! ) If you go to Zentangle Blog, you can see sooooo many beautiful and creative entries that fellow Tanglers have sent in! It's not too late to enter yours too!!!
So here is my entry. Including a Zent'Egg'le!!

My story is about using Zentangle to bring awareness to a 'CAUSE'! You can see by going to the header of my blog and click on  Ripple Effect. Also, if you go to labels marked 'Brain Cancer Awareness', you will see more Zentangle for a 'CAUSE'!

For the very bright yellow, I had used a water color brush pen. I don't have the package anymore, otherwise I would share the brand.

I hope you enjoyed the little bit of info. I hope that it helps!
So go on an 'Egg'stravaganza, and
Zent'Egg'le
your Easter Eggs this year!!
If I have a chance, I want to do more Zent'Egg'les, and if I do, I will add them to this post!

NEW OFFICIAL TANGLE, RIXTY and INCHIE,'HEAD'

Weekly Challenge  #163
'Rixty'
First of all, I want to have a "Shout Out" to Rick Roberts, cofounder of Zentangle "HAPPY, HAPPY, BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!" He was celebrating his 60th birthday and while in good company, he discovered this new tangle, Rixty! I really enjoyed it and see that there are soooooo many possibilities. Thanks Rick for sharing your birthday present with us!! :0)  (go to highlighted Zentangle for step out for Rixty)   Now getting to the challenge, being in the theme of Holy Week, I thought it appropriate to  use Rixty in a prayerful matter! I made "Jesus' Crown of Thorns"!
(click to enlarge) Here's my 'Rixty' ,...Crown of Thorns.
And then, because I like Rixty so much, I did another one! Still in theme of 'Brain Cancer Awareness.'  Katie keep the 'HOPE'!!
Yellow and gray was inspired by by a fellow tangler. I'm sorry but I cannot remember whose blog I saw it on last week, but it was beautiful and I commented on it too. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Actually, this 'HOPE' is what Christ so lovingly gave us when he gave His life!!! Have a beautiful Easter!!!!

  Every Inchie Monday
Weekly Challenge
'Head'

So, when I looked at this week's word, so many things popped into my,............HEAD!!! (funny thing) Anyway, I thought of heads and tails, on a coin. I thought of Mount Rushmore, (but those are mainly faces). I thought of the mannequin heads I had to practice on for cosmetology. Those all kept spinning around in my......... 'HEAD'!! But the one that stuck out the most  was this,..........
I know, I know,.......kinda gross and yes very male gender, but that's what I kept thinking of! Having had guy friends, brothers and now husband, I have heard this comment way too many times, 'NOT' to think of it. Here in America, men say, "I gotta go use the head" or "the John."! Anyway, I haven't yet had a chance to look at anybody's entries yet. It's just been a way took busy week. But I hope to take a look and leave comments.

Have a very Blessed Easter!!!
See ya' next week!!

Zentangle and Brain Cancer Awarenes
I thought I would do a tangle using my niece's Brain Cancer Awareness group name.
The ABTA is putting on a walkathon April 12, to raise money for research for brain cancer.
My niece, Katie, has just finished her 3rd week of chemo and radiation and is now beautifully bald!!! Through all of this, she somehow, always exudes a smile that reaches ear to ear and to whomever is around!!!
Katie you are unbelievably amazing!!!! Two of her Aunts are leading this rally of people to help find a cure! There are about 90 people right now that are ready to walk for Katie. And an amazing amount of money has been raised too. Check out Motivated Muggles, and if you care to make a donation,  every little bit helps!!!!!!
Katie's favorite color is orange, and the name Motivated Muggles was inspired by Harry Potter. One of Katie's favorite movies. These are our walkathon T-Shirts!

The original card in the game along with my Inchie!
Can you name this guy? The place that he lives is called 'The Peppermint Forrest'. What's his name?

INCHIE, GOLD

Weekly Challenge
'Gold'

Ok, I'm cheating a little this week. And yes, I know I missed last week. Well, I'm hoping to have a Inchie Minute, sometime this week to catch up on things. But having a major sinus infection doesn't help. (sniffle sniffle) Any who,...... My parents just had their 50th Wedding Anniversary and back in December, I had made all of their invitations. With that said, I used my die cut machine and cut 120 fifties, and 120 zeros. Then I hand glued each one to a cream colored inch of paper that I then shaded the edges to create an antiqued look. (If my family really knew what I went through to do some of the things I did for my parents Anniversary, they'd probably put me in the funny farm.)
Anyway, I hope to do a whole post showing some, how to's, on some of the things I did. So I'm taking the easy route with this weeks challenge. (Really, it was easy at the time ,............but just very time consuming!!!!!)
HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD!!!

I removed names and personal info for privacy reasons.

Have an awesome week and I hope to get around to doin' last weeks Inchie. I didn't even have a chance to view any.

QUANDARY

Weekly Challenge #161
"In a Quandary about 'Quandary' ?????"
Well, I hope this helps you out, then! For some reason I had trouble with the triangle seed step out for quandary, myself. Well, I have always loved to draw flowers, and then it hit me! Draw a 6 petal 'Quandary'! I found that using this method, it helped me feel mere creative and not so restricted with triangles. And yet, just like Laura states in her post, you don't have to be perfect! So think of it as a flower. Sometimes petals fall, and sometimes they are a little 'caddy wampus' (one of my favorite words to describe lopsided or mis shapen). Anyway, I find that if you start out with two petals directly across from each other and then add two more, and then the last two, you have a flower! Then the neat thing about that, when you add your next flower, and use the same method, you end up with triangles!!! Wha la!!!! (JUST REMEMBER TO ROTATE YOUR PAPER!!) I find that helps enormously, too!!! So here goes....... (let me know what you think...)
click on image to enlargeI just learned of Helen Wolters awesome you tube video with a step out of Quandary also. Mine is similar , so between the two of them, they might be able to help someone out.
Yes, it's Monday morning and I'm still adding to my last week post. Well, Anniversary is over and I woke up feeling like I didn't get to really get into last weeks challenge. So here is another entry (as you can see a little oops in there. I didn't plan my ribbons in the right places. Close but not totally.)
So sorry this is not tip top quality, but I really shouldn't have even done the challenge this week! I HAVE SOOOOO MUCH TO DO WITH MY PARENT'S ANNIVERSAY!!!! YEEEKSS!! But I just gotta say this! "Laura, it's all your fault!!! You put out the best challenges! So much so, that I think I am addicted!!! I can't go on with my week until I have entered the 'Diva Challenge Zone'!!" So really what I'm saying is THANK YOU LAURA!!! I think know matter what my week is like, it really helps to get into that Zen, and take a break from everything else. I think that is what helps me stay sane!!! :0)
Real quick, this one I started while on my camping trip. It's a handbag that I'm trying to tangle all over! And I used 'Quandary'.
Have a blessed week!!!
