UMT: 'Athitzi' by Seven
Well, I couldn't help but add a little welcome to our friend for today, in the US. The ground hog! Poor lil' guy! He's in one of those positions, where he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't! Well, it looks like we are in for 6 more weeks of winter!!!( In California, we're saying hooray!!) I know in other parts of the country, many people are wishing for a little sunshine, and not to happy with his prediction!
The little saying I found on Pinterest. His shadow looks a little lame, kinda like the outline when someone dies......! Yeeks! |
I do have to say, when I woke up and saw the UMT for today, I was quite excited!!! For some reason, lately, I have been having such Zen moments when drawing lines!! Woohoo!! And that's exactly what 'Athitzi' is all about!!! "Seven, I just love 'Athitzi'!!! Any tangle that can fill space with style is a favorite of mine!! It is going to be so much fun!! Thank you for sharing it with us!" And thank you Laura for choosing it as a new introduction to the tangle community!
Here's my real go at Athitzi! I was in such the, 'Zentangle space'!! It all just flowed!
While watching the Super Bowl with my hubby, I tried a Zendala, for the VERY FIRST TIME!!!
I think I did it right. I have been so fearful of them. Don't ask me why, cause I don't know!! I think intimidation is probably the answer. So many beautiful Zendalas out there!!!!!
Tangles used: 'SitZen' and Cruffle. I still feel like I need to do something else on the page. As you can see, I did not use a template. My circle is a little wonky!!! |
(((HUGS))) to ya' all!!
Go put a little
Zen
into this

I love that groundhog! I know what you mean about the end of winter being announced in warm places. Can't wait til winter here. Zendalas are fantastic when they are wonky - that's the whole beauty. Such a cute kitchen! And wow to the shadowbox! So much work and creativity. Can't wait to see you page of drawn inchies.
ReplyDeleteI like your diva-challenge-tile with all the flow in it :-) It's a great combination with the other tangles and I like your shading.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried to dras an inchie (by the way I don't really know what exactly an inchie is...), but your frame with all the inchies is really wonderful! I must have a look for inchies, I think ;-)
Many greetings from germany,
Sandra
Beautiful work! I love your Groundhog :-) but your other tiles are great too.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you see a grand array of possibilities this tangle will provide in your gorgeous tiles!
ReplyDeleteLove the ground hog! Not looking forward to more of the winter! Your second piece is stunning and a great zendala!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your "real go at athitzi!" It is very nice. I think athitzi looks best when rows overlap a little but I really like the bit shapes on the left side too.
ReplyDeleteLovely tiles and art, Annette - really love your take on Athizi. And what a fantastic idea you've had to display all the Inchies! They look great. Axxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous litchen inchie and great to see your display
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie
Love the looks of the zias you did. The one you did during the super bowl was awesome! I love that it is wonky! I love the detail you got into the inchie, I am in awe at all the detail that all of you get in the inchies while drawing. I also love the look of the grouping of inchies. Great job and awesome to see what you have done in all that time! great work this week, I am also sick with a cold here is to hoping we will both get better!
ReplyDeleteLovely tiles :)
ReplyDeleteCool inchie kitchen & the groundhog made me smile :-)
ReplyDeleteWell done on framing the previous years inchies too!
Sally
Annette, your tiles are all very beautiful; the Athitzi one is gorgeous with the other tangles next to it.
ReplyDeleteYour zendala is lovely too and just in time, yesterday Erin (The Bright Owl) posted a new Dare after month and month of absence. So ..... off you go girl :-)
How clever to use the tangle on your groundhog, it becomes really fur look-a-like in this way. Your zendala looks very delicate. Perhaps you should try to do the zendala dare of Erin. She had a break last half year, but I saw she posted again yesterday, she makes templates to use, not all of them are my favorite, but I always enjoy them because they push me sometimes out of my comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteHugs and keep on Zen(dala)tangling
Annette, you did a great job, particularly the collection of inchies--an amazing body of work nicely presented. Look forward to seeing all you ZIAs this year. Have a brilliant day (and feel better!). c
ReplyDeleteOh Boy, Annette. This is such a terrific Post. Love your Diva Challenge Tile. You've really got a handle on the Athitzi Pattern. Beautiful variations. Nice design and pattern choices. Love the Mooka. So organically woven into the other patterns. Wonderful shading. Love your Inchie, and the Display you put together. Love your groundhog. What a coincidence, your drawing your first Zendala, which is so beautiful. I drew my first Zendala last night. They have intimidated me no end, as I have enjoyed the beautiful Zendalas done by other Tanglers. I may post it. Hope you get feeling better real soon. Thanks for sharing your awesome art.
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork. especially love the kitchen inchie - looks very cozy and the display of your inchies is fabulous - I must do something like that soon
ReplyDeleteLovely tangles and inchie. I must try the tangles when I have time.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your upbeat posts. You do beautiful work, always, and this week I just fell in love with your little groundhog. I'm rooting for winter to be over though :)
ReplyDeleteSo much wonderful pieces this week! Especially I love your beautiful zendala. Very nicely done! Great your collection of inchies ... looks great in the frame.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Annette
So much lovely work. Hope that groundhog is right and this rain storm really brings rain!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation of Athitzi, it makes a nice ZIA.
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly have been incredibly inspired! All are great and I admire your Zendala immensly. As to your idea of gathering all your Inchies together, it's just wonderful. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteGreat work this week Annette. I like your groundhog. He isn's as intimidating as Lee Ann's dragons. You were brave to try your first Zendala free hand. Looks really good. I am not sure why you were intimidated by them, but I know a lot of people are. You can go to The Bright Owl and download zendala templates from her blog. This would let just work on filling the template and not have to worry about creating it yourself. Good luck on this. BTW - Erin is starting the Zendala Dare again.
